Speed test
MeowX for Android and Windows has the same built-in speed test as the iPhone and Mac app. It measures latency, download and upload speed through a node you choose, or directly, to see what your own connection can do. The test runs inside the mihomo core.
Opening the speed test
Section titled “Opening the speed test”Tap the speed card on the Home tab (the card with the upload and download rates; a small gauge icon sits in its corner).
MeowX must be connected. While disconnected, the start button is unavailable and the page says “Connect first: this measures the speed through the node”.
Running a test
Section titled “Running a test”- Pick what to test through. The row above the gauge shows the node; tap Change to choose another.
- Direct is always at the top: “Test this device’s network without a node (DIRECT)”.
- Below it, every node in your subscription. Proxy groups cannot be chosen, only individual nodes or Direct.
- By default MeowX picks the node your traffic is currently using (the current node on the Home tab).
- Pick a source: Google, Apple, Speedtest or Cloudflare.
- Pick threads: Single thread (default) or Multi-thread (8).
- Tap Start test. Tap Stop to cancel.
The needle gauge shows the phase (“Connecting to test server…”, “Measuring latency…”, “Downloading”, “Uploading”) and the live speed. Below it are tiles for Latency, Download and Upload with their peaks, and a line with the server, the node it goes via, and how much data has been used. Next to the node, MeowX shows the node’s exit: its network (AS number and operator) and IP address.
Leaving the speed test page stops a running test.
The test goes straight from the chosen node to the test server, without consulting your rules, so it measures the node even if your rules would send the test site direct. It measures latency first, then downloads for 10 seconds and uploads for 10 seconds (Google is download only). The sources and how each phase is measured are the same as on the other platforms; see Speed test in the main app section for details.
Under the start button, Last result shows your most recent test. There is also a link, Open web speed test in browser.
History
Section titled “History”Every completed or failed test is saved (tests you stop are not). History is kept only on this device, up to 100 records.
- Tap the clock button at the top right of the speed test, or the Last result card.
- The history page starts with a summary for the last 30 days: number of tests, fastest download, fastest upload, lowest latency, and a chart of the download speed over time.
- Chips let you show All nodes or just one (or Direct).
- Records are grouped by day. Swipe left to delete one; Clear at the top deletes them all after confirmation.
Tap a record to see its details: download and upload averages with peaks, the rate curve, Latency, Via, the exit, Test server, Source · threads and Data used. Run again with the same settings starts a new test with the same node, source and threads; Delete removes the record.
